This was a video produced for one of our bi-annual video nights, typically held over our Easter fly-in. This video features footage from Mystic cups, Bright 321 competition, NTVO and others. The story line is loosely based on competition flying, the inspiration provided by the sound track by Pink Floyd.
This is an interesting little video. It was produced by taking a GPS tracklog and generating a digital video from CompeGPS. CompeGPS automatically retrieves topology data and satellite images for the region and generates the animation in 3D. Just after the climb out from Mystic at the start, look at how the tracklog defines the thermal column in the background.
